Five Random Facts:

  1. New to town, Grier has moved to LA with just his essentials: his favorite canvas upholstered chair, a box of books, his MacBook, his pet cat and, of course, his digital camera.
  2. The only form to date that Grier has taken up is a gray, short-haired cat, nearly identical to his feline companion.
  3. One item he almost always carries on his person along with other necessary things (wallet, keys, ID, etc.) is an orange adjustable cat collar, which he religiously wears around his left wrist.
  4. Aside from photography, his favorite pastime and hobby is practicing magic tricks.
  5. Grier tries to live life spontaneously, while he may wake up in odd places, shifted or not, he always finds his way back home.

Shifter Notes:

  • Click to see Grier's form and accessories.
  • Grier, despite his lack of thumbs in his shifted feline form, has mastered the art of getting the collar he wears around his wrist onto his neck. By pinning it to a wall or any vertical surface, he is able to loop his head into it so that it sits just loosely over his clavicle.
  • While he is almost never seen without the orange "band" around his wrist, sometimes a silver bell or a pair of ID tags will be clipped onto it. He claims the sound of "jingling pieces of metal" makes him happy.
  • The reason why his collar is orange is to show his undeclared support for the ASPCA.

History: Born to Ada and Lloyd Talbot, two shifters who were originally from Los Angeles and Pasadena, Grier grew up as an only child. His childhood was a happy one and he easily rose to his parents’ expectations. He aced his classes, graduated high school, won regional and national awards for his photographs, and continued working on establishing a life for himself… anything and everything to make them proud. After he had graduated from college with a bachelor's degree in fine arts, he planned to pursue a career in a creative field, pinning his hopes on his skills in photography. After originally arranging to try his luck with a magazine publisher in Seattle, his father managed to change his mind. He advised that his son find a place near Los Angeles, thinking the atmosphere and lifestyle there would be more suitable; the local newspaper happened to have several job openings as well. Following months of planning, he packed up his camera equipment, his wardrobe, and anything else he would need to start his journey in starting the career of his dreams.

While Grier's childhood was a trouble-free one, his parents went to great lengths to keep his curiosity for other "uncommon" beings to a minimum. They had moved north to ensure that their only son would not come face-to-face with vampires or werewolves or, goodness forbid, other shifters (especially those with a repertoire of exotic forms). Lloyd and Ada's choice in sheltering their son from the world backfired when they realized that Grier could have been something more. A common house cat, after all, could only go so far in the world... Hence the suggestion for moving to Midnight, California, was encouraged.

Other Notes:

  • Within a few weeks of moving, Grier's habit of saving extra cash paid off, rewarding him with a used 2008 green Jeep Liberty.
