Grier has moved from Fort Rain, Alaska (his previous place of residence) with just his essentials: clothes, wallet (with ID, cash, debit card, etc.), his MacBook, his digital cameras, 5th generation ipod, and a quilted blanket (all from favorite shirts, which were given from friendly inside jokes and a trip to Hawaii).
He has a tattoo of a crown on the underside of his left forearm. He claims he got it for symbolizing his last name (which loosely translates to "lord"), rather than a "just because" sort of thing.
Sometimes wears large-framed glasses but he doesn't like how he looks in them and will only resort to taking out his contact lenses when he's spent more than an hour at his computer.
Grier once had a cell/smart phone, but left it behind at home when he moved; he dreaded that his ex-girlfriend would call. Since his break-up with Kate and his resignation at the Fort Rain Tribune, he no longer carries the old Motorola RAZR phone he bought for work, and keeps it turned off inside a small, 8"x6"x4" wooden keepsake box with a few other things (which have yet to be actually accounted for). History: Grier is the pride, joy, and only child of Antony and Alice Cirillo. As a youngster he grew to love exploring, often hiking with his father and best friends during the summer. He enjoys traveling and has backpacked through Europe and gone on vacations in Italy, England, Hawaii and Alaska. Sometime after high school he managed to enroll into an art college but dropped out after three quarters; a few courses had him convinced that it wasn't the right thing for him. Bored of staying home and lugging his camera day-in and day-out of his cubicle where he works for the local newspaper, he decided to transfer [haphazardly and randomly] to Alaska - not to Talkeetna where his relatives are, but a small town out in the middle of nowhere.

It has been noted by his parents that their son's hasty and foolhardy ways might have been sparked when he began dating his first girlfriend in high school. After five years of dating, she moved away to attend college; she later admitted that their long distance relationship was not working a few months later, even after Grier had planned to join her within the following year. Left with no choice but to smother his dampened spirits with any means of trying to forget the past, he sought out that certain "something" to fill the gap she had once occupied. While Alice and Antony only somewhat understood what he was going through, they accepted his decision to move and often planned to fly him back home every few months just to keep in touch and ensure that he is getting his life right on track.

In January of 2012, a flu epidemic struck the small town of Fort Rain, Alaska and things started to go downhill from there. As his girlfriend Kate (another lonely soul who had uprooted herself from her hometown) invested nearly 90% of her time to her dog sled team once she had fully recovered, Grier only got worse. Having been ill a week longer than she had - enduring twice as many clinic visits and a number of fever-reducing, pain relief medication - he began to suffer from a series of depression spells after beginning to feel like he was growing apart from her. Fights ensued and lingered on as he constantly stormed out on her and she consistently forgave and reprimanded him. As he was unable to confront his emotions, she started to hide away and work her way around and away from him. By August, they called the relationship off, and a week later he simply packed his bags and left with the same basic belongings he had when he first came to the small Alaskan town. Upon returning home, he spiraled back down into his depression and often found consolation in the consumption of alcohol. Over the next year, he managed to come to terms with his stint of "running away" to Fort Rain and has finally come back to what he considers as "square one" with a different girlfriend behind him and a somewhat bright future ahead of him (if only he could fully open his eyes, take it all in, and stop looking back).
